Bullwinkle J. MooseBullwinkle J. Moose - Moronic moose on the classic cartoon series ROCKY AND HIS FRIENDS/ABC/1959-61 and THE BULLWINKLE SHOW/NBC/ABC/1961-82. Bullwinkle J. Moose (voice of Bill Scott) is the sidekick of Rocky the flying squirrel. Living in the fictional town of Frostbite Falls in Koochiching County, Minnesota, Bullwinkle and Rocky battled the evil plots of Pottsylvanian spies Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale. Boris' favorite saying is "Get Moose and Squirrel"! Reading Bullwinkle's resume one discovers that our friendly moose worked for the Navy as a radar antenna and graduated from Wassamatta U (ochre & Alice blue are the team's colors). Once Rocky asked Bullwinkle "Do you know what a bomb is?" Bullwinkle replied "A bomb is what some people call our program." And while singing in the shower, Bullwinkle emoted "Oh, I hate my uncle but I love my antlers, because antlers are a moose's best friend." During each episode Bullwinkle said "Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit outta my hat...Whoops. Wrong hat." The voice of this dimwitted by modest moose was reminiscent of comedian Red Skelton's punch-drunk boxer character, Willie Lump-Lump. The Bullwinkle character (named after used car salesman Clarence Bulwinkle) reached the heights of popularity when he floated high above the crowds as a huge balloon in the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. A smaller yet no less grandiose image (a 15-foot-tall plaster statue) of Bullwinkle and Rocky can be found at 8218 Sunset  Boulevard, the former site of Jay Ward Productions.
