Puppet Dogs
Humphrey - Hound dog puppet on THE MORNING SHOW, a 1950s CBS program that contained news, entertainment and music.

Humphrey, the hound dog was controlled by puppeteers Bil & Cora Baird who helped their canine puppet carry on conversations with the likes of newsman Walter Cronkite.

Humphrey and another puppet named, Charlemane the Lion were introduced on the program to compete with a real animal named J. Fred Muggs, a monkey mascot who costarred with morning celebrities who appeared on THE TODAY SHOW on the NBC network.
