Moby Dick - White whale featured
on segments of the cartoon series MOBY DICK & THE MIGHTY MIGHTOR/CBS/1967-68.
The "Moby Dick" segment of the show (an 8 minute cartoon)
followed the adventures of Moby Dick, a great white whale.
Initially, Moby rescued two youths named Tommy and Tub who were
swept miles away from their uncle's vessel "The Sea Explorer"
during a typhoon.
Befriending the giant whale, Tommy, Tub and
their seal companion Scooby team up to battle injustice and have
a lot of fun swimming in the sea.
The Moby Dick character is
based on the classic white whale in the 1851 novel "Moby-Dick; or
the White Whale of the Pacific" by Herman Melville.
