Willow Rosenberg - Shy, computer whiz with red
hair and green eyes who later became a witch on the occult fantasy BUFFY THE
VAMPIRE SLAYER/WB/UPN/1997-2003.

Willow Danielle Rosenberg was born and raised in Sunnydale, California and
attends Sunnydale High School [home of the Razorbacks football team]. Her Jewish
parents are Ira and Sheila Rosenberg, a child psychologist. After a teenager
named Buffy Summers arrived in town, Willow joined forces with her to battle the
evil of the Hellmouth that resided below the town.
Her friends in this endeavor included:
-
Daniel "Oz" Osborne [a musician with whom Willow gave up her virginity]
-
Xander [Willow's friend since childhood]
-
Cordelia Chase [a preppy snob]
-
Buffy [a vampire slayer]
Collectively, Willow and her demon-hunting friends are called the "Scooby
Gang" [a phrase coined to reflect the group's occult activities of battling
ghosts, vampires and other such demons].
Willow dislikes included frogs, spiders and people looking at her. However she
likes to have her tummy rubbed, rented shoes and ventriloquist dummies, colored
pens to mark her homework, caffeinated mocha coffee and 'A Charlie Brown
Christmas' special.
While in high school, Willow was recruited by 'the largest software company in
America' Later, she was accepted into Harvard, Yale, Oxford and other
universities, but she chose UC Sunnydale to be with her friend, Buffy Summers.
On the campus of UC Sunnydale, Willow lived in Stevenson Hall (Rooms 214 then
213) and then moved into the Summers residence at 1630 Revello Drive, Sunnydale,
California to help Buffy care for her new sister, Dawn.

Tara and Willow Sharing a Quiet Moment
Interested in the occult, Willow aspired to Wiccan beliefs. After Willow fell in
love with a fellow Wiccan named Tara Maclay, a saddened Oz left town [he had
turned into a werewolf and could no longer see a future with Willow]. When
Willow became obsessed with dabbling into the dark side of witchcraft, Tara
objected. She soon distanced herself from Willow until she stopped her dangerous
tinkering with the unknown. But, when Tara was killed by a stray bullet meant
for Buffy, Willow went berserk (her hair turned black) and she summoned the dark
forces to hunt down and kill Tara's murderer (She ripped the skin off his body
with a flick of a hand). With the help of her friend, Xander, Willow renounced
the dark forces that had consumed her and returned to her normal self.

Willow's Darker Side
When an apocalyptic battle loomed on the horizon, Willow cast a massive spell
that shared the power of the Slayer with not only the recruits helping Buffy but
to thousands of other girls around the world. The spell also manages to change
Willow's red hair momentarily to white (symbolic of her goodness). At the
conclusion of the conflagration, the town of Sunnydale was wiped off the map as
the power of the Hellmouth was destroyed. Soon after, Willow left town.
Reportedly, she is still out there somewhere, practicing her witchcraft and
presumably helping others to battle evil.

TRIVIA NOTE: Willow did have a chance to visit California to see her old friends Angel,
and Cordelia who now ran a detective agency. See also "Buffy
