Tornado - Black stallion on the Old
California western
adventure ZORRO/ABC/1957-59.
 Tornado
(pronounced: "tor-NAH-do") was owned by Don Diego De La Vega (Guy Williams) whose alias was
Zorro, a masked outlaw who galloped through the 1820s Spanish Colony of
Monterey, California avenging those wronged by the tyrannical governor.
During the 1958 season Zorro acquired a white stallion called Phantom. This
horse was owned by a Lt. Santos, killed by bandits on a road outside Monterey.
Trying to follow the horse Don Diego said, "It was like trying to catch the
wind."

In real life Tornado was a registered Morgan gelding known as "Diamond
Decorator."
The Tornado horse character also appeared in the sequel series ZORRO &
SON/CBS/1983 and THE NEW ZORRO/FAM/1990-93.
