Independence Inn - Quaint historic inn located in
the town of Stars Hollow, Connecticut (about thirty minutes from Hartford) on the prime time drama GILMORE GIRLS/WB/CW/2000-2007.

The management and staff of the Independence Inn included:
- Elizabeth Franz, then Kathy Baker, as Mia, the owner of the Independence
Inn
- Lauren Graham as Lorelai Gilmore, manager of the Independence (later
the Dragonfly Inn),
- Melissa McCarthy as Sookie St. James, the Independence Inn's talented
chef
(and later partner in the Dragonfly Inn)
- Yanic Truesdale as Michel Gerard, the Independence Inn's haughty concierge
who later worked at the Dragonfly Inn..
- Alex Borstein as Drella, the Independence Inn's harpist
- Bruce McCulloch as Tobin, the night manager (at the Dragonfly)
- Max Perlich as Rune, the incompetent handyman (for the Independence Inn)
Lorelai Gilmore, a single mother with a child (Rory),
worked as a maid at the historic Independence Inn and was later promoted to
Manager by Mia, the owner of
the Independence Inn.
Years later, when the Independence Inn burned down, Lorelai, hoping open her
own Inn, joined forces with her friend Sookie, the chef at the Independence Inn,
to open the Dragonfly Inn. Michel Gerard, the concierge at the Independence Inn
and Luke Danes (Scott Paterson), the owner of Luke's Coffee shop were also
business partners.
During its day, The Independence Inn hosted many events in its dining hall,
such as fashion shows, weddings, the famous Bracebridge Dinner and the annual
gathering of the Edgar Allen Poe Society. When the Dragonfly opened, noted
author Norman Mailer visited the fledgling inn.
