Erascists - A musical group of squeaky-clean
teenagers who professed that racism has been "erased" on comedy
segments of the late night show MAD TV/FOX/1995+.

Debbie, Hugh, Steven and Anne - "The
Erascists"
Composed of four teens in tee-shirts adorned with the letter "E,"
this goofy, geeky bunch of kids sang silly songs to get across their
message of peace and love that espoused
"We're the Eracists, Eracism has been erased. We go to schools and
community centers to teach kids that it's not cool to hate someone
just because their different...you all need to open up your ears
and let the music of love inside..."
The Erascists also spread their gospel to those in prison and once
intervened in a St. Patrick's Day bar brawl between homosexuals and
straight Irishmen who were denying the gays access to their annual
parade.
The Eracists were played by Nicole Sullivan (Debbie), Alex Borstein (Anne), Bryan Callan
(Hugh) and Orlando Jones (Steven).

Debbie, Hugh, Steven, and Anne: |
Red!, White!, Brown!, Yellow!, Purple?! It
doesn’t matter what color your skin is, if your last name is
Epstein or Jones, if your mom earns low pay, or even if your
dad is gay-a-ay. ‘Cause underneath, we’re all blood and bones. |
|
Debbie: |
I’m white, I’m pretty, I’m blond with blue eyes,
I’m just the right shape, I’m just the right size, but that
doesn’t mean that I’m better than you. ‘Cause guess what? |
|
Steven, Hugh, and Anne: |
What? |
|
Debbie |
My mother is a Jew! |
|
Debbie, Hugh, Steven, and Anne: |
Blood and bones, blood and bones. |
|
Steven: |
I’m Steven, I’m black, but that doesn’t mean
that I smoke crack, and I’m not looking for a hand to whack, ‘cause
that would keep me from, a funk attack! |
|
Anne: |
Hey, I’m Anne, I drive a van, and anything you
can do, I can! One fact about me that’s inescapable, I’m not
handicap, I’m handicapable! |
|
Debbie: |
Anne, aren’t you also Latina? |
|
Anne: |
Yes I am, not that it matters! |
|
Hugh: |
My name is Hugh and that’s that, but don’t make
fun of me because I’ve got red hair! My voice is sweet and my
style is funky, so it’s ok if I’m a little auburn hair! I like
to sing alone, a dub-dub-dubby, but don’t call me names like
red, ‘cause my name is Hugh! |
|
Debbie, Hugh, Steven, and Anne: |
It doesn’t matter what color your skin is, if
your family lives on welfare and loaves, join Erascists today,
and every thing will be ok-a-ay! ‘Cause underneath, we’re all
blood and bones! |
