Pink Lady - Attractive Japanese singers
featured on the
comedy variety show PINK LADY/NBC/1980.

Pink Lady consisted of two female Japanese Pop Rock singers, Mitsuyo
"Mie" Nemoto and Keko "Kei" Masuda. Assisted by comedian Jeff Altman, the
rock duo (who spoke very little English) performed in comedy sketches and
such songs as "Kiss Me In The Dark."
Although popular in Japan, their debut in America was short-lived. TV
Guide magazine listed PINK LADY as one of the "50 Worst TV Shows of All Time."
It ranked at #35.
TRIVIA NOTE: In the world of
art, "Pink Lady" (1944) was the name of an oil and charcoal painting created
by Willem de Kooning. In May of 1987, it was auctioned at Sotheby's in
Manhattan for 3.63 million dollars.
