NYPD 65th Precinct - In the 1950s the police drama
THE NAKED CITY the detectives of the 65th precinct tracked down murderers and
muggers that prowled the streets of New York City (a.k.a. "The Naked City").

Police staff at the 65th Precinct included:
- John McIntire as Det. Lt. Don Muldoon
- James Franciscus as Det. Jim Halloran
- Harry Bellaver as Patrolman/Sergeant Frank
Arcaro
- Horace McMahon as Lt. Mike Parker
- Paul Burke as Det. Adam Flint.

[Opening] "Ladies and Gentlemen, you are about to see the Naked
City...This story was not photographed in a studio...quite the contrary. The
actors played out their roles in the streets and buildings of New York
itself."
[Closing] "There are eight million stories in the Naked City. This has been

The TV series was based Jules Dassin’s 1948
feature film The Naked City,
filmed on location in New York. This film’s
title was inspired by "Naked City", the 1945 book
of gritty photographs by newspaper photographer Arthur Fellig
(a.k.a. "Weegee").
