The British Forces division of UNIT was lead by Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart-code name: Greyhound One & Jupiter. He was assisted by Captain Yates-code name: Greyhound Three & Venus; Corporal Bell, the Brigadier's female adjutant; Harry Sullivan, the UNIT Medical Officer; and Major Cosworth. The UNIT center of operations is referred to as "Trap One. Soldiers in the field are called "Trap Two." The local police are called "Blue Bottle." UNIT was later headed by Colonel Charles Crichton. By the end of the series, UNIT had amassed an arsenal of anti-alien weaponry: silver bullets, Teflon anti-Dalek shell, high explosives for Yeti, armor piercing for robots, and gold tipped explosives for battling the Cybermen.
