When his wife, Trudy (Ming Na-Wen) urged Sam to get rid of the chair, he protested, ”I had my first sexual experience in that chair."

To make it harder to sell the chair, Sam placed a selling price of $800 but eventually paid $100 to have it hauled away.

When someone asked about the smell of the easy-chair, Sam proudly exclaimed, “The smell of authentic comfort.”
