May 29, 1976 skit on SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE John
Belushi played actor William Shatner in his role
of Captain James T. Kirk who refused to leave
the set of his series even as the walls of the
set were coming done. Finally, resigned to
his situation he says:
"Captain's log, final entry. We have tried
to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new
civilizations, to boldly go where no man has
gone before. And except for one television
network, we have found intelligent life
everywhere in the galaxy. Live long and prosper.
