Cylons - A remnants of a race of
reptilian creatures featured on the sci-fi series BATTLESTAR
GALACTICA /ABC/1978-80.

Imperious Leader of the Cylon Empire
The Cylon Centurions (Model 0005) were the robotic soldiers of a
reptilian galactic civilization (who had since died off) whose
main directive was "the final annihilation of the life form known
as man."
"They're machines created by living creatures a long, long time
ago...a race of reptiles called Cylons. After a while the Cylons
discovered humans were the most practical form of creature in this
system. So they copied our bodies, but they built them bigger and
stronger than we are. And they can exchange parts so they can live
forever...There are no more real Cylons. They died off thousands
of yahrens ago, leaving behind a race of super-machines, but we
still call them Cylons." -- Apollo
Under the direction of the mechanical Imperious Leader, a
large three-brained reptilian, (the receptacle of all Cylon
knowledge), the Cylons used their Centurion
Warriors to attack a twelve-planet solar system and
systematically exterminated its humanoid inhabitants. The
Centurion catchphrase is "By your command!"

The relentless Centurions then pursued the few fleeing
survivors through space in an attempt to destroy them all. See

In the 2004 remake of the series, the Cylons were originally
robotic workers and solders created by the Twelve Colonies of
Kobol. But the robots rebelled against mankind and then went into
isolation. After forty the Cylons reemerged (evolved) through
bioengineering means as humanoids - now indistinguishable from
real humans.
With a new mission, they hunted down their creators (humans)
because they consider them to be flawed creations of God and
therefore not deserving of survival.

Number Six: |
We're the children
of humanity. That makes them our parents in a sense. |
|
Aaron Doral: |
True, but parents
have to die. It's the only way children can come into their
own. |
The humanoid Cylons came in twelve models. They have super
strength, the ability to interface into a computer system, can
download their consciousness to another body at the time of death,
and can be programmed with false memories as "sleeper" agents to
infiltrate human communities.
