Chandler Bing's Nipples

- Data processing executive Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) on the sitcom FRIENDS/NBC/1994-2004 was endowed with, not two, by three nipples. Because his "nubbin" (what he called it) was such a curiosity, when people learned of the third nipple, they asked questions like "What's it shaped like?", "Is there a hair on it?" and "Can you flick it?" Tired of such questions, Chandler got creative and told them  "Pressure on the third nipple opens the delivery entrance to Narnia." Chandler finally had his birth anomaly removed [an nubbinectomy"] in his late twenties, and is now "without nubbin." On the episode "The One With Phoebe's Ex Partner" Chandler dated an ex-girlfriend of Joey Tribianni named Ginger who had a wooden leg. After some soul searching, Chandler decided it didn't matter about her leg. Unfortunately, when the girl felt Chandler's "nubbin" beneath his shirt, she immediately freaked and pulled away from him him. An excerpt of the scene follows:

Ginger: Do you have three nipples?
Chandler: Well, y'know, two regulars ... [clears throat] and, uh, one that barely qualifies as a ... [CHANDLER resumes kissing, but GINGER pulls away and gets up from the chair] Uh, what?
Ginger: [gathering her belongings and putting on her coat) Nothing, y'know, I - I just remembered I have to leave.
Chandler: You, uh, you have [laughs] you have to leave, now? How come?
Ginger: Oh, well, it's nubbin [correcting herself] NOTHING, um ... y'know what, I'm, I'm, I'll see you later, okay. [GINGER leaves the apartment and shuts the door on CHANDLER, and as soon as the door is shut, she quivers and gets grossed out at the thought of CHANDLER's nubbin).

TRIVIA NOTE: Krusty the Klown on the cartoon series THE SIMPSONS/FOX/1990+ has a superfluous third nipple on the right side of his chest. Third Nipple Web Site

Girls, The - Chicago magazine writer Hannah Miller (Jamie Lee Curtis) from the sitcom ANYTHING BUT LOVE/ABC/1989-92 was especially proud of her breasts. She nicknamed them "The Girls." On the July 18, 1997 segment of the daytime talk show OPRAH called "Letters to Oprah" Oprah Winfrey read fan reactions to her comments about her desire to have her breasts lifted. She summarized their concerns with "Some encourage a lift...others say to leave 'The Girls' alone." On the sitcom MAD ABOUT YOU/NBC/1992-99 Jamie Buchman (Helen Hunt) who was obsessed with making people like her, went over board to impress a boy in high school and was known as "The Stemple sister who showed a boy her boobs to be liked." Louis De Palma (Danny DeVito), the lecherous taxi dispatcher on the sitcom TAXI/ABC/NBC/1978-83 referred to Elaine Nardo's breasts as "Headlights." On the sitcom WHO'S THE BOSS/ABC/1984-92 Mona Robinson (Katherine Helmond), was called "all boobs and no brains" by her mother when she was younger. Mona's daughter Angela Bower (Judith Light), a successful ad executive, was just the opposite "all brains and no boobs." On June 19, 1997 Jay Leno of THE TONIGHT SHOW commented on Glamour magazine's revelation that many more women than it was thought actually named their breasts. He followed by complaining "Oh great! It's hard enough remembering one name, now when we wake up in the morning we have to remember three. On the sitcom DHARMA & GREG/ABC/1997+ Jenna Elfman as Dharma Finkelstein revealed that her husband Greg Montgomery (Thomas Gibson) nicknamed her breasts Eric and Lyle "because they're a couple of killers." TRIVIA NOTE: On the sitcom SEINFELD/NBC/1990-98 the term "My Boys" was the nickname for George Costanza's sperm as in "My boys can swim"; and the nickname for the genitals of both standup comedian Jerry Seinfeld and his next-door neighbor Kramer (Michael Richards).

Mr. Beer Belly - Just one of many names given to Mr. Lynn Belvedere (Christopher Hewitt) by a scatterbrained teenage cheerleader named Angela on the sitcom MR. BELVEDERE/ABC/1985-90. Angela (Michele Matheson) was the best friend of Heather Owens (Tracy Wells) whose family employed a British manservant named Mr. Belvedere. Whenever Angela visited the Owens household she incorrectly called Mr. Belvedere by such ignominious misnomers as Mister Beer Belly, Mr. Bumper Sticker, Mr. Beaver Dam or Mr. Bell Ringer. Once Angela entered and won the Miss Beaver Falls Beauty Pageant. Her talent: a ventriloquism act with a dummy resembling Mr. Belvedere.

Nip, The - The nickname of Elaine Benes (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) on the sitcom SEINFELD/NBC/1990-98. Once Elaine wanted to send a Christmas card with her photograph on it and so she got her friend Cosmo Kramer (Michael Richards) to take a snapshot. Unfortunately, Elaine (and Kramer) didn't realize her blouse was not fully buttoned and that her breast nipple was exposed to the camera lens. When Elaine first saw the mistake, she cried "Oh my God, that's my Nipple!" For this little photo faux pas she was nicknamed "The Nip" by her coworkers at Pendant Publishing. Elaine later cropped the nipple part off the photograph and used it for her health club ID. On the episode "The One with the Boobies" on the sitcom FRIENDS/NBC/1994-2004 Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry) accidentally viewed Rachel's (Jennifer Aniston) breasts when she left the shower. As a "tit" for "tat" compromise, his friends recommended he show Rachel his pee-pee. Chandler responded, "Well, I'm not showing you my tat."
