A Trek for the Troops: A report on my
trip to Riverside Iowa's TREK FEST XXII (Jerome

It's
late June and I'm off to Riverside, Iowa to see
the 22nd edition of
TREK FEST
which is scheduled
for the last Saturday of June each year. The
festival, of course, honors the future
birthplace of Captain James T. Kirk from the
science fiction series STAR TREK.
Along for this "Trek for the Troops" is a friend
of mine, the one and only action figure - GI
JOE. He will serve as a proxy for all those
soldiers serving in the Mideast and other parts
of the world who may also have wanted to hit the
road this summer and enjoy a ride through
America's heartland. So let the adventure begin.
