Tony Awards - Founded in 1947, the Tony Awards, a presentation of the Antoinette Perry Awards for excellence in the Broadway Theater, has been telecast since 1967. Originally, a two-hour telecast, the awards program has since been reduced to a one-hour telecast usually airing on a Sunday night sometime during the spring season.
