Blinky Bill - Loveable koala bear with shiny black nose and fluffy little ears seen on the animated half-hour cartoon THE ADVENTURES OF BLINKY BILL/SYN/1994. Blinky Bill lived in the Australia Bush with a bevy of animal friends. After loggers destroy their community of Greenpatch Village, Blinky Bill pitches in to rebuild their wilderness home. His trademark catchphrase is "Extraordinary!" Blinky Bill resurfaced in the sequel series BLINKY BILL'S EXTRAORDINARY EXCURSION (1995). Created by the Yoram Gross Film Studio Productions, the Blink Bill programs were based on the books written by Dorothy Wall. Blinky Bill first appeared in the Australian produced animated movie Blinky Bill: The Mischievous Koala (1992) created by Yorum Gross Film Studios. TRIVIA NOTE: The Blinky Bill character was created in 1933 by Dorothy Wall, a New Zealand artist who had come to Sydney at the age of 20. Her first book was entitled Blinky Bill, the Quaint Little Australian. Blinky Bill remains quite popular in Australia today. A stage show at The Australian Wildlife Park inside Wonderland Sydney offers a daily show featuring Blinky Bill as he goes in search of a new home with the help of his friend Skippy the Bush Kangaroo. In 1986, to warn the public about the  the destruction of the environment and the ever growing list of animals on the endangered species songwriter John Williamson expressed these sentiments: "Oh goodbye Bunyip Bluegum, goodbye Blinky Bill And beautiful little Nutsie, I can't believe it. Our koalas are all dying, can it really be? A national disaster, a world catastrophe."
