THE DRAMA SERIES

FAME/1982-87
[Voice of Debbie Allen as dance instructor Lydia Grant] "You got big dreams? You want fame? Well, fame costs. And right here is where you start paying--in sweat."

THE MILLIONAIRE/CBS/1955-60

[Marvin Miller as Michael Anthony behind a desk]

Mr. Anthony:

"Hello, My name is Michael Anthony. And until his death, I was executive secretary to John Beresford Tipton, a multi-billionaire who had the strange hobby of giving away one million dollars. One million dollars, tax-free! to an individual who had never met him-who indeed had never heard of him."

[Scenes of Bereford's luxurious mansion are shown as Michael Anthony continues]
Mr. Anthony:

"This is SILVERSTONE, John Beresford Tipton's 60,000 acre estate. Mr. Tipton was a man of amazingly wide interests. So wide that one never knew what to expect when called into his presence."

[enter Michael Anthony]

Mr. Anthony:

"You sent for me, Sir?"

[As Michael Anthony entered the room, Mr Tipton was always seated with his back to the camera. The audience never saw his face but only heard a deep voice which explained who would be the next recipient of the tax-free million dollar check. The voice of this faceless benefactor was Paul Frees. Tipton once said: "You know Mike, these chessmen were the first luxury I ever allowed myself...I decided to make my hobby a chess game with human beings...I'm going to chose a number of people for my chessmen and give each a million dollars...the bank (Gotham City Trust and Savings Bank) will issue the check...no one is to ever know that I am the donor...I want a complete record of what happens to each person's life in writing."]

MY LIFE AND TIMES/ABC/1991
[Voice of Tom Irwin] "I wouldn't say I've seen it all, but I've seen a lot. I've seen the world change. I seen myself change. I've watched footsteps on the moon. I've seen myself stumble. I've made a fortune. I've lost a fortune. I've loved and lost and lived to love again. The one thing I know is...life is an adventure. You've got to hold on and let it carry you away. It's carried me all the way to the year 2035 and I'm here to tell the tale. I'm Ben Miller and this is my life and times."

PROMISED LAND/CBS/1996-99
[Voice of Gerald McRaney] "My name is Russell Green. Maybe you've passed me and my family out on the highway. Maybe you were driving some fancy sports car or a old beat up four-door. Maybe you had some place to be, or maybe like us your living out your dream with your house hitched up behind ya and America the beautiful up ahead. But whoever you are, you be sure to give us a wave next time you drive by 'cause we're your neighbors. We're all on the road together."

SWORD OF JUSTICE/NBC/1978-79

Jack Cole: That is an absolute lie! Those criminals framed me for something I didn't do. I'll pay them back for every single day of those three long years.... They say this place (Prison) is like a college, well I want to go to school.
Convict 1: So you want to know about burglar alarms hmmm?
Convict 2: You never know when precision acrobatics well come in handy.
Convict 3: Any lock can be picked, if you have the right tools and the right touch.
Hector Ramirez: You mean we're gonna bug the federal building?
Jack Cole: There's a whole level of crime operating above the law, we're going to help put an end to it.
