Blue Bird of Happiness - A
large, blue-feathered mascot (a bargain basement Big Bird a la SESAME STREET) seen on the
sports drama THE BAY CITY BLUES/NBC/1983. The Blue Bird of Happiness (Marco
Rodriquez) works for the Bluebirds, a minor league baseball team and jumps
about the ball diamond to rally on the team's fans in Bay City, California.
TRIVIA NOTE: On the sports
sitcom HARDBALL/FOX/1994, a mascot named Hardball (a guy in a baseball
uniform with a giant baseball head) appeared as the grumpy team mascot for
the Pioneers baseball team.
