Tigger the the Tiger - A bouncy, pouncy, talkative
tiger featured on the Saturday morning cartoon THE NEW ADVENTURES OF
WINNIE THE POOH/ABC/1988. Tigger was based on characters adapted from Alan
Alexander Milne's classic children's books; "When We Were Very Young" (1924),
"Winnie-the-Pooh" (1926), "Now We Are Six" (1927) and "The House at Pooh Corner"
(1928).
The animated Tigger first appeared in the Disney Winnie the Pooh
specials/featurettes seen at the movies, on regular television and the
Disney Channel. The voice of Tigger in the Disney versions was supplied by
Paul Winchell.
Tigger likes to bounce on his tail but dislikes haycorns,
thistles and honey. ("Tiggers don't like honey," said Tigger "Oh!" said
Pooh, and tried to make it sound Sad and Regretful. "I thought they liked
everything." "Everything except honey," said Tigger.)
