Richard Diamond's Car-Phone - The
detective drama RICHARD DIAMOND, PRIVATE
DETECTIVE/CBS/NBC/1957-60 was one of the first shows to feature a telephone
in a car.

Richard Diamond (David Janssen) took his messages from a Hollywood
answering service girl called "Sam," a faceless receptionist with a sultry
voice and great pair of legs.
While Richard cruised the streets of Los
Angeles, Sam often called Mr. "D" (as she called him), just in time to
supply him with information that saved him from the bad guys.
Sam was played
by a young Mary Tyler Moore (February-May 1959) and replaced by Roxanne
Brooks (1959-60).
