The Great Gonzo - Hook-nosed disciple of daredevil Evel Knievel on the variety program THE MUPPET SHOW/SYN/1976-81. The Great Gonzo was a creature of unknown origin. Reportedly, he was a war baby with a parrot for a mother and as for father, any "thing" was possible [later revealed to be an outer space alien].  Gonzo was a fierless stuntman who was extremely confident of his abilities. He clearly believed that he could do the impossible like catching a speeding cannonball with his bare hands. His companions included Fozzie the Bear, Kermit the Frog, and Miss Piggy. His sweetheart was a chicken named Camilla. The concept for Gonzo was suggested by Jack Burns formerly of Burns and Schreiber comedy team.
