Chris Stevens' Smell Curse - On the episode
"Only You" of the rural drama NORTHERN EXPOSURE/CBS/1990-95, town deejay Chris
Stevens (John Corbett) suffered from a rare but periodic affliction. It seems
the men in his family emitted a seductive sexual scent which caused all women to
lust after him. Anticipating the yearly pheromone fest, Chris settled back for
the onslaught.
What he wasn't ready for was optometrist Dr. Irene Rondenet
(Caitlin Clarke) who was passing through the town of Cicely, but not throwing
passes at him.
Intrigued at her indifference, Chris ignored all the women who
wanted him and pursued the only one who didn't. In the meantime Dr. Joel
Fleischman (Rob Morrow) began a study of Chris' fascinating biological
phenomena.
TRIVIA NOTE: On the sitcom SEINFELD/NBC/1990-98
Cosmo Kramer (Michael Richards) possessed an animal attraction known as "Kavorka"
that seemed to work only on Latvian Orthodox nuns.
