Bandit - Stray Scottish border collie (played by Jeff the dog) featured on the frontier drama LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE/NBC/1974-83. Bandit entered into the life of Laura Ingalls Wilder  (Melissa Gilbert) soon after her faithful little mutt Jack died. Laura was reluctant to accept Bandit, but eventually she learned to love him. Bandit debuted in the second season on the episode "A Day at the Fair." Bandit was trained veteran animal handler Ray Berwick and Ray's nephew Brian Renfro. Bandit earned his named (from Michael Landon) because the black fur across his face looked like a mask. Jeff (Jeffrey) had two other litter companions: Jake and Joey.
