Joe - Black and tan Army German shepherd guard dog starring on the animal adventure RUN, JOE, RUN!/NBC/1974-76. Joe was wrongfully accused of attacking his K-9 corp trainer and had to flee (a la THE FUGITIVE) to escape punishment. Sgt. William Carey (Arch Whiting) searched for Joe during the first season to let him know he was exonerated of all charges. Later, in the second season, Joe met a mountain man named Josh McCoy (Chad States) and together the two backpacked across the country. Joe's real name was Heinrich of Midvale.
