Larry - German shepherd featured episode  No. 9 "The Unwelcome House Guest" on the classic sitcom THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW/CBS/1961-66 Larry belonged to comedy writer, Maurice "Buddy" Sorrell (Morey Amsterdam). Once Buddy needed to find a dog sitter and so he left Larry with his friend and coworker Rob Petrie (Dick Van Dyke). The dog so frightened Rob's little boy, Richie (Larry Mathews) that he cried "Don't let him eat me!" He then climbed inside a kitchen cabinet and closed the door. When Richie discovered Larry sleeping in his bed the following morning, he soon realized the dog was really a pussy cat.
