Sidney - Whining, depressed forty-two-year old orphan pachyderm (a.k.a.
"Silly Sydney") that debuted on the theatrical cartoon shorts Sick, Sick Sydney
and Sidney's Family Tree (1958).

Sidney lives in the jungles of Africa. When he
is unhappy (which is all the time) he asks for advice and comfort from his
friends Stanley the Lion and Cleo the Giraffe.
Created by Gene Deitch and
produced by Terrytoons, the Sydney character was first released to theaters and
later aired as a component of the Saturday morning cartoon THE HECTOR HEATHCOTE
SHOW/NBC/1963.
