  Greeting Catchphrases

"You ra-a-a-ng?" - Question posed by Lurch  (Ted Cassidy), the towering zombie butler on the bizarre sitcom THE ADDAMS FAMILY/ABC/1964-66 when he responded to a loud gong used by his eerie employers. "You Rang" was also the catchphrase that beatnik Maynard G. Krebs (Bob Denver) used when entering a room on the sitcom THE MANY LOVES OF DOBIE GILLIS/CBS/1959-63. Usually just before Maynard arrived, the conversation was about something dirty, disgusting or despicable. His other catchphrase "Hi ya good buddy," and "Hi big daddy."  See also "Hell-o-o-o-o"
