Michael Landon's Long Hair - The lengthy
tresses of actor/director Michael Landon (of BONANZA, LITTLE HOUSE
ON THE PRAIRIE and HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN fame) were the by-product of a
childhood experience when he saw the biblical movie epic Samson
and Delilah (1949). Drawing strength from the legend of Samson,
Landon decided he too would grow his hair long and thus gain power.

Born Eugene Maurice Orowitz, on October 31, 1936, in. Forest
Hills, Queens, New York, actor/director Michael Landon died o
pancreatic cancer on July 1, 1991 in Malibu, California.
