a home, remodels the home in a short period of time (anywhere from 3
weeks to 4 months) and then re-sells the home for a profit. Each
episode is a fun, fast half hour that will document the entire
flipping process of one house. At the end of each

Title: Furniture to Go
and
Furniture on the Mend |
Network: PBS & The Learning Channel (TLC) |
| Year: 1993-1997 |
Hosts: Ed Feldman, Joe L'Erario |
| Summary:
"Furniture to Go" and "Furniture on the Mend" costarred Joe L’Erario and Ed Feldman,
aka "The Furniture Guys". Their programs
aired on WHYY-TV PBS Channel 12 in Philadelphia. Both Joe
and Ed had expertise in
refinishing furniture and upholstery projects. Ed owned Classic
Furniture Services which did in-house repair on peoples’ furniture,
while Joe’s Refinishing by Vincent catered to refurbishing bar and
restaurant interiors as well as private clients. When it came time for the
show, the guys restored a piece of furniture while making silly
jokes and comments about movies and pop culture references. The beginning
of each show the guys performed a little costume drama to warn up the
audience for the rest of the show. The guys also took side trips to local
merchants who also worked in their field. In 1993, the guys took their
show to cable where they won a Cable Ace award (won the '94 'Best
Host' category). Ed and Joe are the authors of "The Furniture Guys Book".
In 1997, they expanded their range from furniture repairmen to general
contractors on the series "Men in Tool Belts." |
