In 1979, PBS debuted the
home renovation series THIS OLD HOUSE starring Bob Vila. This program
began a revolution in home improvement and spawned hundreds of shows and
thousands of hours of programming that mimic the Bob Vila legend. To
document the trend, I have compiled an A-Z list of Home Improvement shows
which feature the theme of building, gardening/landscaping and design.

Each entry includes the
name of the show, a description of the show, and a link, if possible, to
either an active website or a TV network where the show aired or currently
airs.
This collection of
programs comes not only from the USA but from Australia, Great Britain
and Canada. Also included are TV shows from years past that
inspired, foretold or spoofed the home improvement craze.
