Danny Phantom - The pseudonym for Danny Fenton,
a 14 year-old boy who was transformed into a ghostly being on the fantasy
cartoon series DANNY PHANTOM/NIK/2004+.
Danny received his ghostly powers when
he stepped inside a "strange machine" (the Fenton Ghost Portal) created by his
father, Jack Fenton that was designed to view alternate universes. Danny
accidentally turned on the portal while inside and his molecules fused with
ghostly ectoplasms. Now, Danny has the ability to disappear at will, walk
through walls and fly. When he transforms, Danny's normal teenage cloths change
into a skin-tight black and white superhero costume while his dark hair turns
white and his eyes glow green.
When not fighting ghosts, Danny hangs out at Casper High School where he is a
freshman. His best friends are his extremely talkative friend, Tucker Foley who
covers for Danny when he leaves school to battle ghosts ("What ever he's doing,
I'm sure it has nothing to do with ghosts"); and Samantha "Sam" Manson Danny's
smart "Goth" friend (she's a girl but not his girlfriend) who shares an interest
in the paranormal, and chooses to be a vegetarian.
Danny's nemesis at Casper High is Dash Baxter, a bully and the most popular guy
on campus who always gives Danny a hard time. But now that Danny has new found
powers, he can hold his own against Dash's taunts.
At home, Danny has to contend with his ghost hunter parents, Jack and Maddie
(who are oblivious to the fact that Danny is half-ghost); and his older snobby
sister, Jasmine "Jazz" Fenton who keeps Danny's super abilities secret mostly
because she doesn't want her "cool " friends at school to learn about her
brother's geeky powers. And because she hates her parents profession and does
ever thing she can to stop them in the pursuit of the paranormal.
Other women in Danny's are Paulina, the most popular girl in school whom Danny
likes (she doesn't like him because he's not popular - Oh if she only knew the
real Danny); and Valerie Grey, a fellow high school student who secretly battles
ghost in her spare times.

Ghostly villains who interrupt Danny's daily schedule included:
- The Skulker, the ghost world's greatest collector of rare and unique items. When
he learns about Danny (being half-human and half ghost), he seeks to capture him
in a cage.
- Nicolai Technus, a professor and "Master of Technology"
- The Lunch Lady, who loves meat and hates vegetarians.
- Vladimir "Vlad" Masters/Vlad Plasmius, a former colleague of Jack Fenton who got
turned into a ghost during a failed lab experiment in Jack's lab and seeks
revenge.
- Ember, a rock n' roll-styled ghost whose powers and ponytail grow when fans
cheer her name
- Desiree, an Arabian Nights ghost (genie) who grants people their deepest darkest
desires and wishes.
- Penelope Spectra, she feeds off teen misery to stay young.
- The Box Ghost a simple-minded apparition who claims ultimate power over all
things "cardboard and square."
