Isil'Zha Gemstone - Members of the Rangers on the sci-fi series BABYLON 5/SYN/1994-98 and THE LEGEND OF THE RANGERS/SYN/2002 each wear an aqua-blue gemstone pin on their uniform. The jewel is called "Isil'Zha" meaning the "future, birth, beginnings, and dawn of a new age." Complementing the gemstone is a pair of Human and Minbari figures (which signify the two halves of their souls joined to battle a common enemy) that blend in the middle and hold the Isil'Zha gemstone in place. The Ranger pin is created by forging it in a white hot flame. The pin is then cooled in three bowls: First in ancient holy water, next in Minbari blood, and lastly in Human blood. It is said that when a Ranger dies, the two figures each shed three tears: one of water, two of blood.
