Poughkeepsie - Term used by eccentric senior partner, John Cage (Peter MacNicol), on the legal dramedy ALLY MCBEAL/FOX/1997-2002. Whenever John got nervous he used the word "Poughkeepsie" as his personal mantra, muttering it calmly as he wandered the law firm of Cage/Fish & Associates.
