Les Nessman's Bandage - A running visual gag on
the sitcom WKRP IN CINCINNATI/CBS/1978-82 centered around Les
Nessman (Richard Sanders), the news director at WKRP radio station
in Cincinnati.

Each episode, Les wore a bandage on some part of
his body. Sometimes it was on his head, the next on his fingers or
hand.
The gimmick began when Richard Sanders injured himself on the
first episode of the series and covered his cut with a small
adhesive bandage.
The bandage bit was continued when the series returned in
syndication on THE NEW WKRP IN CINCINNATI/SYN/1991-93. Look for the
bandage the next time your watching the show, it's always on the
move.
TRIVIA NOTE: On the British series FATHER TED/C4/1995-98, a
similar phenomenon occurs with the mole on the face of rectory
housekeeper Mrs. Doyle (Pauline McGlynn) a.k.a. "The Housekeeper
from Hell." Between the first and second series the mole moves from
one side of her face to the other. In the third installment it
vanished altogether.
