broadcast from his basement in Aurora, Illinois on the comedy program SATURDAY
NIGHT LIVE in the 1990s. The motto translates: "Babes, Parties, Tunes."
"Be Excellent to Each Other" - Motto of Bill S. Preston and Theodore Ted
Logan, two teenage musicians on the sci-fi series BILL AND TED'S EXCELLENT
ADVENTURES/CBS/1990-91. In the year A.D. 2691, Bill and Ted are worshipped by a
futuristic society that was so influenced by their 20th century rock n' roll
music that peace was achieved worldwide.
"Be Sure You're Right, Then Go Ahead" - Davy Crockett's motto spoken by
Fess Parker when he played the role of frontiersman Davy Crockett on segments of
the ABC program DISNEYLAND in the mid 1950s. The phrase was taken from Davy
Crockett's 1834 autobiography. Fess Parker and Buddy Ebsen also recorded a
ballad called "Be sure You're Right" inspired by the famous motto.
"Beer That Made Milwaukee Famous, The" - Advertising slogan for the
Schlitz Beer Company (originally the slogan for Miller Beer) founded in 1874 by
Joseph Schlitz. The slogan was coined by the father of actor Robert Stack.
Another brewery of note in Milwaukee was the Shotz Brewery on the sitcom LAVERNE
& SHIRLEY/ABC /1976-83. Shotz beer didn't necessarily make Milwaukee famous but
it did provide an opportunity for employment to Laverne De Fazio (Penny
Marshall) and Shirley Feeney (Cindy Williams), two zany young woman who worked
for their beer-capping division during the 1960s.
