Saturday morning cartoon series COOL McCOOL/NBC/1966-69. McCool reported to an
unseen supervisor known as Number One who sent his agent to battle such villains
as The Owl, The Pussycat, and The Rattler.
"Detective Is Only As Good As His Snitch, A" - The motto of Richard
Diamond (David Janssen), a tough, New York City (later Los Angeles) investigator
on the drama RICHARD DIAMOND, PRIVATE DETECTIVE/CBS/NBC/1957-60. Diamond paid
his snitches ten dollars a pop for information.
"Does she or doesn't she?" - Advertising slogan used in the 1950s for the
Clairol, Inc. hair care and dye products. A soft female voice began the
commercial with "Every season, every age, has its own special beauty. But the
quality of freshness never loses its appeal. Her hair-so soft and shiny...the
color fresh, sparkling. Does she...or doesn't she? Miss Clairol Hair Color looks
so natural-only her hairdresser know for sure!" The ad campaign was created by
Foote, Cone & Belding, Inc. agency in 1957.
