Pinocchio - A magical wooden puppet
seen on the 5-minute series THE NEW ADVENTURES OF
PINOCCHIO/SYN/1960-61 produced by Arthur Rankin Jr. (A Video Craft
Production).

The stories followed the tales of Pinocchio, a wooden puppet boy
carved as a companion by Geppetto, a lonely toy maker and later
given life by the
Blue
Fairy. The series was filmed in "Animagic,"
a process that made marionettes seem alive.

Theme Song Lyrics
"The New Adventures of Pinocchio" |
| Singers: |
Here's Pinocchio
What a happy lass since the day
He lost his strings
He can walk and talk and fly |
| Pinocchio: |
Do anything I try |
| Singers: |
He can dance, sing a tune,
play a flute |
| Pinocchio: |
Do anything I try |
| Singers: |
But never never never never
Never never never never ever
Ever should he tell a lie. |
TRIVIA NOTE: The Pinocchio tale was created by Italian author Carlo Lorenzini,
(aka "Carlo Collodi" 1826-1890) who wrote the famous children's
story "The Adventures of Pinocchio" (1883).
Other filmed adaptations include the classic Walt Disney feature
length cartoon Pinocchio (1940); a USA/French production of
Pinocchio in Outer Space (1964); and a Filmation Studios
production of Pinocchio and the Emperor of the Night (1987).
