A.N.I. - Android Nursing Interface, a
beautiful, blue-eyed, by-the-book 23rd century female robotic
medical aid (a "Simbot") on the science fiction series MERCY
POINT/NBC/1998-99.
A.N.I. (played by Julia Pennington) can work
around the clock. Her mechanical efficiency often caused resentment
with the other non-robotic nurse aids and Mednauts (otherwise known
as EMTs) at Mercy Point especially when she got promoted to Head
Nurse.
A.N.I. can tolerated 200 to 800 degrees Celsius, has
difficulty recognizing human sarcasm, but when necessary she can cry
real tears or show the signs of embarrassment.
NOTE: A "Simbot" is a
robot that simulates human functions.
