Herman the Robot

Herman was the toy of Cheryl Adler (Melanie Gaffin) who lived at 601 North Canyon Drive in Calabasas, California. She preferred Herman to a traditional doll.

The Whiz Kids with Herman

Cheryl's brother, Richie Adler (Matthew Laborteaux) was a genius teenage computer hacker who owned a 64K self-built talking computer named RALF.

Together with their friends from Canyon High School, Richie solved crimes with the help of Lew Farley, (Max Gail), a reporter from the Los Angeles Gazette and Farley's brother-in-law, Lt. Neal Quinn (A. Martinez) who ran the police department's Mobile Data Terminals.
