Gold Pocket WatchBronco Layne's Pocket Watch - On the western adventure BRONCO/ABC/1958-60, Bronco Layne (Ty Hardin) an ex-confederate soldier turned army scout, owned a gold pocket watch that played the tune "Deep in the Heart of Dixie." Inside the watch was a picture of Redemption McNally, a former love from Bronco's earlier days in Texas. Once, when the chief of an Indian war party threatened to kill Bronco, he bartered his gold watch for the safe passage of himself and his friend Enrique Cortez (Gerald Mohr). The watch later resurfaced when Bronco's friend Enrique bought the watch from a drifter who got it from an Indian. Cortez then placed the watch on display in the window of The Layne & Cortez General Store. Beside the watch was a sign that read "Will Owner Please Claim." Unfortunately, Bronco's wanderlust prevented him from returning to the store and reclaiming his once prized possession.
